Join us for "The State of Greater Williamsburg," Presented by Sentara Regional Medical Center, an essential program for community leaders and business professionals hosted by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce (GWCC). This event provides key insights into the region's economic health, workforce trends, business growth, and state of healthcare.
The breakfast is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024, from 8am-10am at the Colonial Heritage Clubhouse. The program will feature distinguished speakers:
Dr. Amber Price, Division President of Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, on the State of Healthcare
"Dr. Amber Price received a Bachelor in Behavioral Science from the University of Maryland, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She completed a Master of Nursing in Midwifery, and a post-Masters Certificate in Global Women’s Health at the University of Cincinnati. She received her Executive Doctorate from The Johns Hopkins University, with a research focus on Change Leadership.
She served as President of the American College of Nurse-Midwives in Virginia, and in 2017 won the Monarch Award for Innovation in Nursing. She was named one of 100 “CEOs To Know” by Becker’s Healthcare in 2022 and 2023. She was named a Women’s Health Global Topic Expert by the BBC and is a Consultant for GE on Global Health and Innovation. In 2020, she was named a ‘Woman to Watch’ by Nashville Medical News and is a regular speaker and International Keynote and Plenary on Women in Leadership, as well as on Trauma in Healthcare Providers, Patient Experience, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity in Healthcare. She has been featured in several documentaries, films, and podcasts, and has published numerous articles and book chapters. Most recently recognized as one of the Top 25 Female Disruptors by CoVaBiz.
Prior to joining Sentara, she was the COO at HCA’s flagship facility in Nashville TN, and served as the administrator for the Women’s Hospital at Henrico Doctors’ in Richmond VA. She serves as a mentor for first generation female students for the Women’s Initiative Network at Old Dominion University."
Dr. Ken White, Associate Dean, MBA & Executive Programs at William & Mary Raymond A. Mason School of Business, on the State of Workplace
"Before joining William & Mary in 2014, he served in similar roles at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.
White oversees William & Mary’s in-person MBA, one-year master’s, and corporate/executive programs with the goal of delivering a transformational experience to each student and participant.
White also serves as a communication coach, working with executives, leaders, professionals and MBA students to help them become outstanding other-centric communicators. For over 20 years, he has provided communication coaching and instruction to some of the world’s top companies and organizations including Beckman Coulter, Capital One, CSX Transportation, Deloitte, Dollar Tree, the Hilb Group, Lockheed Martin, McCormick & Company, MedStar Health, Smithfield Foods, Stihl, Sumitomo, Under Armour, the U.S. Army, and others.
A former television sports anchor, he is the host of William & Mary’s Leadership & Business, an award-winning podcast launched in 2015. White earned his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Missouri."
Ryan Price, AICP, Chief Economist, Virginia Realtor Association on the State of Real Estate
"Over the past 15 years, Ryan has honed his knowledge of Virginia’s economy and housing market in a variety of roles in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Ryan’s research focuses on housing market trends in Virginia, and the economic and demographic factors that move the market. Ryan is the Chief Economist for Virginia REALTORS®, Virginia’s largest trade association. Prior to joining Virginia REALTORS®, he served as the President of research consulting firm LSA Planning, as a Planner for the City of Alexandria, as a researcher at the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University, and as a Financial Analyst at Freddie Mac, among other roles. Ryan received a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Tech, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from James Madison University."
