Yorktown’s Sounds of Summer concert series runs Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9 p.m. through August 14. We’ve got bands playing beach music, country, jazz, R&B, popular hits, and so much more! Calling all Parrot Heads! We've got the Tiki Bar Band playing on the Riverwalk Landing Stage! Comprised of lead singer Billy Kendra and his partner Mike Binetti, their music is fun and energetic. Add the unique ability to expand the band depending on the event and they go from backyard parties to playing in front of 15,000 people at the recent Pirates Pack the Park in Newport News. A fixture on the Virginia Beach oceanfront for years, The Tiki Bar Band plays hits from the 70s and 80s, beach music, and Jimmy Buffett. Before the entertainment begins, visitors are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy dinner or dessert at any of Historic Yorktown’s waterfront restaurants including Water Street Grille, Carrot Tree, Umi Sushi, Ben & Jerry’s, and Yorktown Pub. Guests are permitted to bring their own blankets, chairs, and small coolers. No tables, umbrellas, or tents are allowed. There will be a dance floor, friendly games of corn hole, and tasty, to-go meals from rotating food trucks available for purchase. Free parking is available at designated public parking lots throughout town, including York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, and County Administration Building. The complimentary, wheelchair-accessible Yorktown Trolley runs from 5 to 9:30 p.m. during every concert with a modified route that still includes some of the stops on the outskirts of town.
