ABOUT GEORGIA DODSON
Born and raised in Appalachia, Georgia Dodson (W&M '04) has always been a storyteller at heart. She discovered her love of film editing with Matt Lenski's short Meaning of Robots, which premiered at Sundance, screened at MoMA's New Directors/New Films, and shaped her decade-long career in docustyle commercials. Her first feature documentary, Underplayed, edited and co-written with director Stacey Lee, premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in September 2020. In 2022 and 2023 she edited the Disney Original Documentary Madu, directed by Oscar-nominee Matt Ogens and Joel 'Kachi Benson, which opened the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February and is set to premiere on Disney+ March 29th. Most recently, Georgia was tapped to edit a documentary series for Netflix she's not allowed to talk about. At William & Mary she majored in English and Literary and Cultural Studies (RIP), and was a member of the sketch comedy group 7th grade.
